Spot intelligence.

This is Chrissi Akti beside Chania, not Golden Beach on Paros. Surf and SUP teaching is documented here. Intermediate is a conservative minimum for independent recommendations across the whole mapped beach and unvalidated model band, not a denial of locally selected beginner lessons. Check swimming zones and the actual bank; the forecast provides no access or staffing confirmation.

Reviewed 23 Oct 2026 · not observation-validated

Published sources reviewed by SWELLRADAR, not validation against measured breaking waves. Directional references are qualitative ranking inputs, not surveyed optima or full acceptance windows. The inherited generic 0.6–3.0 m offshore-model band remains unchanged and unvalidated: not a local working range, safe learner range or wave-face conversion. Original approximate map pins and location sources remain. Explicit sea requests do not survey takeoffs, reefs, sandbanks, currents, access or provider-snapped cells. Chania Surf Club's own account confirms its Chrissi Akti surf/SUP base and supervised progression, not a guaranteed available booking or all-size learner suitability. Joseph Richard Francis' original guide describes short, crumbly waves from northerly windswell and a rocky eastern headland. N/0° is only that exposure reference: the guide's loose east-facing introductory wording is not adopted as surveyed beach geometry. Wave-generating northerly wind is not treated as a clean offshore wind; no independent beach-wide clean-wind or tide-quality reference is established, so both bonuses and their fallbacks remain off. No handedness, seasonal reliability percentage, safe water depth, present bathing-water status or empirical height reduction is inferred.

Character

01

Golden Beach is defined by crumbly small-wave peaks · short rides over sandy bay · rocky eastern margin. The shape can change with swell angle, period and the active section, so the live score should always be paired with a visual check from shore.

Best setup

02

N · qualitative windswell exposure swell, clean-wind reference unverified · check locally and local bank check · unverified scoring form the profile baseline. SWELLRADAR retains 0.6–3.0 m as an offshore-model ranking band, not a measured local surf limit or a breaking-wave prediction.

Lineup read

03

Choose a peak that matches your experience and reassess it as tide and crowd change. Pay particular attention to rocky margins between coves, swimmers and shared beach users, wind-generated chop and changing banks. Local signs and advice always take priority.
