SWELLRADAR is requesting a verified marine run for Praia Vermelha do Norte.
Spot intelligence.
This is Vermelha do Norte, not Vermelha do Centro, Vermelha do Sul or nearby Perequê-Açu. Sand banks produce different peaks along the beach. The local guide explicitly cautions against beginner use, especially in larger surf. Intermediate is a conservative minimum for independent recommendations, not clearance for every bank or swell. Inspect the shorebreak, currents and available space from shore before deciding whether to enter.

Reviewed 19 Oct 2026 · not observation-validated
Published sources reviewed by SWELLRADAR, not validation against measured breaking waves. Directional references are qualitative ranking inputs, not surveyed optima. The inherited generic 0.6–3.0 m offshore-model band remains unchanged: it is not a measured local surf limit, safe learner range or wave-face conversion. The approximate map pin is a place marker, not a surveyed takeoff or approved entry route. The explicit sea request samples an offshore model. Actual banks, currents, local notices and personal ability override the profile. Kalani Brulher's original local guide supplies E swell and sand-bottom rights and lefts. E is a qualitative shared reference, not a complete acceptance window or measured optimum. Its easy-to-medium table does not override the prose warning about beginners and difficult larger surf. The guide lists W/NW wind and favours W in its prose; the general forecast guide instead gives NNW in its body and WNW in its summary, with E versus ESE swell wording. No unique wind optimum is established, so directional wind scoring and the opposite-swell fallback stay off. Both guides describe all-stage surfability, not equal quality or safe depth: no preferred tide phase, motion reward, preferred window or adaptive beach fallback is added. Municipal coordinates corroborate the retained approximate place marker and rocky ends; the original Ubatuba Guide describes the steep beach and bathing caution. Neither establishes current water-quality clearance, patrol staffing, a safe route across rocks or current crowd size. Guide wave-size examples are not offshore-model limits. A ten-kilometre eastward model request gives more clearance from the surrounding coastline than the marginal six-kilometre eastward candidate; it does not resolve local bathymetry or guarantee the provider's snapped cell.
- Guia do Surf · Kalani Brulher's Vermelha do Norte guide
Original local account of E swell, sandy rights/lefts, powerful hollow waves, beginner caution, W/NW wind, all-stage surfability and crowded peaks; not measured height limits or a tide optimum
- Ubatuba Tourism · Praia Vermelha do Norte
Official beach identity between Barra Seca and Praia do Alto, approximate coordinates and rocky margins at both ends; not live services or safety clearance
- Ubatuba Guide · Deyves Martins' original Vermelha do Norte account
Original authored description of the steep beach, caution for inexperienced bathers, nearby rocky margins and distinction from Vermelha do Centro/Sul; not live water-quality or access clearance
- Surf-Forecast · Praia Vermelha do Norte original guide
Exposed beach, mainly rights, all-stage surfability and crowd caution; differing E/ESE swell and NNW/WNW wind wording is disclosed, not averaged into a precise optimum

Character
01Praia Vermelha do Norte is defined by mostly rights · lefts also reported over sand banks · rocky margins at both ends. The shape can change with swell angle, period and the active section, so the live score should always be paired with a visual check from shore.
Best setup
02E · qualitative beach reference swell, w–nnw reported · unverified and bank-specific · no preferred phase form the profile baseline. SWELLRADAR retains 0.6–3.0 m as an offshore-model ranking band, not a measured local surf limit or a breaking-wave prediction.
Lineup read
03Choose a peak that matches your experience and reassess it as tide and crowd change. Pay particular attention to powerful hollow beach peaks, stronger currents as surf builds, crowded takeoffs. Local signs and advice always take priority.
