Spot intelligence.

This existing Punta Roca is near Barranquilla in Colombia, not the cobblestone right in El Salvador or the Panamanian namesake. SWELLRADAR conservatively keeps independent recommendations Expert only: ProColombia's published 2021 table labels this Colombian location Experto. Selecting Expert does not establish the equipment, local knowledge or conditions needed for a session.

Profile sources & limits

Reviewed 23 Oct 2026 · not observation-validated

Published sources reviewed by SWELLRADAR, not validation against measured breaking waves. Swell-from references are qualitative ranking inputs, not surveyed optima or complete acceptance windows. The inherited generic 0.6–3.0 m offshore-model band remains unchanged and unvalidated: not a measured local working range, safe learner range or wave-face conversion. Original approximate map pins and location references remain. Explicit sea requests do not survey takeoffs, bottom clearance, sandbars, currents, entry routes or provider-snapped cells. The original Surf-Forecast guide matches the Colombian coast near 11.04°N/74.91°W and supplies a qualitative NW swell reference, rock-reef identity and rock/urchin cautions. Its SE wind statement is not independently verified as a local whole-marker optimum, so directional wind scoring and the opposite-swell fallback stay off. ProColombia's December 2021 Caribbean table labels Barranquilla's Punta Roca Experto, but attributes that table to Wavetribe; it is a published tourism classification, not an independent field calibration. The stricter Expert-only policy is retained rather than translating other guides' intermediate/advanced labels into automatic permission. Atlántico's own 2020 mapping separately confirms Punta Roca as a surf location. No tide preference, safe reef depth, wave-face factor, current rescue staffing or access permission is established; tide remains unverified without bonuses or adaptive fallback.

Character

01

Punta Roca is defined by reef sections · confirm the active peak over rock reef · uneven sections. The shape can change with swell angle, period and the active section, so the live score should always be paired with a visual check from shore.

Best setup

02

NW · qualitative reef reference swell, light wind · local direction unverified and reef clearance · check locally form the profile baseline. SWELLRADAR retains 0.6–3.0 m as an offshore-model ranking band, not a measured local surf limit or a breaking-wave prediction.

Lineup read

03

This is an expert-only profile, not an advanced-intermediate recommendation. Even experts must assess the active reef, entry and exit locally; smaller model values are not safety clearance. Pay particular attention to rock reef and sea urchins, exposed wind-sensitive surf, unverified entry and shallow sections. Local signs and advice always take priority.
