Spot intelligence.

This is an unsplit San Agustinillo beach marker, not a surveyed individual takeoff or blanket learner clearance. Original accounts distinguish sheltered lesson water from more powerful open-beach sections, but do not geolocate those sections precisely at this pin. Advanced is a conservative minimum for independent recommendations across the unsplit beach and unvalidated offshore band; selected small-wave lessons do not clear every peak. Confirm the active section and entry locally.

Profile sources & limits

Reviewed 24 Oct 2026 · not observation-validated

Published-source review, not validation against measured breaking waves. Compass references are qualitative ranking inputs, not surveyed optima or complete acceptance windows. The inherited 0.6–3.0 m offshore-model band remains unvalidated: not a local surf limit, safe learner range or wave-face conversion. Existing approximate pins remain. Sea requests are model-sampling locations, not takeoff, depth, current, access or provider-cell surveys. Rodrigo_sanchez89's original atlas gives left/right beach peaks, sand with rock and rips, but no wind/swell/tide optimum. Its approximate western marker is not copied over the existing OSM pin. Joseph Richard Francis's original San Agustinillo section supplies S-swell exposure and poor holding of larger swells. The independent firsthand Banana Backpacks visit distinguishes lesson bay from heavier open beach with stronger rip; its rental experience is not an all-condition grade. OSM beach geometry locates the pin west of the separately named Aragón beach, but does not prove that the pin is the particular heavier section in the firsthand account. The profile describes the unsplit named beach with a conservative Advanced gate, not a geolocated learner/open-beach boundary or surveyed takeoff. S is qualitative, not a complete acceptance sector. No independent wind or tide optimum is established, so directional wind/opposite-swell fallback, phase/motion bonuses, preferred windows and adaptive fallback remain off. Surfline's normal-browser guide rendered no body; forecast metadata is not used as mechanics evidence.

Character

01

San Agustinillo is defined by changing left/right beach peaks over sand with scattered rock · banks unmeasured. The shape can change with swell angle, period and the active section, so the live score should always be paired with a visual check from shore.

Best setup

02

S · qualitative published exposure reference swell, light wind · directional optimum unverified and changing-bank response · unverified form the profile baseline. SWELLRADAR retains 0.6–3.0 m as an offshore-model ranking band, not a measured local surf limit or a breaking-wave prediction.

Lineup read

03

This is an advanced profile: positioning, entry and exit should be assessed before committing. Pay particular attention to strong rip currents on the open beach, shorebreak and swell-driven closeouts, rock outcrops and changing sandbanks. Local signs and advice always take priority.
