Spot intelligence.

Ōsaki is the offshore reef beyond the eastern side of Zushi Marina, distinct from Kabune. The original local guides restrict it to advanced surfers. Advanced is the minimum recommendation gate, not clearance in typhoon surf; the generic model band does not establish that the reef is breaking or that a paddle-out is possible.

Reviewed 23 Oct 2026 · not observation-validated

Published sources reviewed by SWELLRADAR, not validation against measured breaking waves. Directional references are qualitative ranking inputs, not surveyed optima or full acceptance windows. The inherited generic 0.6–3.0 m offshore-model band remains unchanged and unvalidated: not a local working range, safe learner range or wave-face conversion. Original approximate map pins and location sources remain. Explicit sea requests do not survey takeoffs, reefs, sandbanks, currents, access or provider-snapped cells. Surfers' Ocean's separately photographed Ōsaki section reports an SSW preference within a broader WSW–SSE sector, rock bottom, a long paddle and hollow middle sections, explicitly excluding learners and intermediates. ONEFAT's own 2024 account corroborates those mechanics and reports NNE wind. Surfaround instead gives N–NW wind, so no universal clean-wind axis or opposite-swell fallback is scored. Tide response and handedness are not established sufficiently and are not invented. Historical typhoon/low-pressure descriptions are not storm-refuge advice, a safe activation threshold or real-time access clearance. Nothing from this reef is used to lift Kabune's research hold.

Character

01

Ōsaki is defined by powerful reef walls · hollow middle section over rock reef · offshore peak. The shape can change with swell angle, period and the active section, so the live score should always be paired with a visual check from shore.

Best setup

02

SSW · qualitative reef reference swell, northerly sector unresolved · check locally and reef-depth dependent · check locally form the profile baseline. SWELLRADAR retains 0.6–3.0 m as an offshore-model ranking band, not a measured local surf limit or a breaking-wave prediction.

Lineup read

03

This is an advanced profile: positioning, entry and exit should be assessed before committing. Pay particular attention to strong currents in larger swell, long paddle to the reef, powerful hollow sections and rock contact. Local signs and advice always take priority.
